1. I'm trying to move toward being a vegetarian but it's tough.
I grew up on thick juicy steaks and still love the hell out of them but my move toward a new philosophy has made me increasingly hesitant to eat sentient creatures. For me to live with myself I will ultimately need to go vegetarian.

Indian food has helped me cut down on meat a lot as there are a whole bunch of fantastic and hearty vegetarian dishes in Indian.

10. I never tried to do it, I just stopped eating meat.
I had cut way back on it for a lot of reasons. I had stopped cooking it ten years before, and only ate it when I went out--which, me being lazy, was more often than it should have been.

One day something happened that made me not want to eat it that day, and the feeling stretched on, and after a couple months I realized I just didn't eat meat anymore.

My daughter, on the other hand, after years of thinking about it, saw a film on meat processing one day at school (it was supposed to be informative, not shocking) and she never ate meat again. Made a decision, and just stopped. She had me as an example, but her mother still ate a meat-based diet, so it wasn't too easy. Her mother knew how to cook for her, though, at least.

Just saying, it is sometimes a decision, and sometimes it just happens. I had already set my kitchen and my diet up for a vegetarian lifestyle, so I didn't have any nutritional setbacks, so it was easy.

2. I just started moving toward more vegetarian eating last month.
So far I have not cooked meat at home once in three weeks. I have had meat at restaurants once each weekend, and then had my leftovers for a second meal, but all other meals through the week have been vegetarian.

I tried this a long time ago, and failed. Back then, though, I was using meat substitutes and familiar recipes, and everything I made "meat-free" just wasn't nearly as good as the original recipes. This time, I just started looking for NEW recipes without meat, so I won't compare to how it used to taste. I have made some really yummy meals, and have not felt deprived at all.

I have about 20 recipes saved at Recipezaar.com that I have yet to try. I am actually having fun with it this time!

3. I want to go veg, feel i need to due to my conscience, but
Mrs. V. grills all summer long, and I'm sorry to say that I am accustomed to the flavor of meats and I like them. I'd also miss meat. And Mrs. V. would be cooking for one. and . . . and . . . and . . . .

There are so many obstacles.

Meantime, I usually eat meat 1-2 times a day. I can cut it down to one, and I don't have to have it every day, I'm sure.

6. Vegetarian here, so I had to pick 9.
I do eat dairy foods. Love my cheese, B\but at least the animal wasn't killed for it. I don't drink milk, but instead soy milk that tastes so much better.
