Found out why my nephew wants to go veg, and it's a good reason

2. I went vegitarian 20 years ago (do eggs and diary, no fish or any kind of meat).

There are several excellent books you could consider as gifts for him:

1) "Diet for a New America", John Robbins - he was the heir to Baskin Robbins but turned down the fortune because he had gone vegan. It is about half health related and half ethics related (how the animals are treated).

2) "The Moosewood Cookbook", "Enchanted Broccoli Forest", and "Still Life With Menu", by Molley Katzen - all excellent cookbooks that aren't simply recipes but guides to cooking without meat.

3) "Laurel's Kitchen" - forget the author - not only a great cookbook, but also a great source of nutrition information

4) "The Gas We Pass - The Story of Farts" - forget the author - okay, that has nothing to do with being vegetarian - it is just a fun book (I bought it as a present for my grandmother - no longer with us, unfortunately).
