A new 3 Stooges movie
Here is the projected cast

MGM and the Farrelly brothers are finally slapping together their high-profile cast for "The Three Stooges," a comedy project the filmmakers have been developing for years. Sean Penn is set to play Larry, and Jim Carrey is in negotiations to play Curly. Benicio del Toro is a rumored possibility for the brothers' taciturn leader, Moe.

What 3 stars would you have picked?

7. No kidding. People still get cranky about Joe Besser 60 years later.
Hell, some people I know get cranked about Shemp (though he was there first).

Three whole new stooges? WTF?

11. It begs the question WHY?
What a stupid idea. The Three Stooges ARE the Three Stooges. It's as dumb as recreating the Rat Pack. Oh, that's right, they've already done that!

12. If this is a real big budget movie and all that...
they got to work Shemp into the flick. He was there at the beginning, and he filled in after his younger brother died, plus Shemp was the most complicated character and gave us the very sophisticated comedy. We need to demand Shemp be written into the script.

20. If somebody in Hollywood were to ever be struck
by an original idea, it would be considered an industrial accident. Hell, they should make a movie about an architect and a talking horse. Now that would be funny.

25. That is historically bad casting. That's John Wayne-as-Genghis Khan bad.
Besides, they did a TV movie a few years ago that was pretty good. Michael Chiklis was Curly, one of the supporting actors from NYPD Blue was Moe.

31. Robin Williams
After his heart repair, he might just be able to slow down enough to nail the real Shemp. I believe there is a very convincing Shemp inside of Robin's head, problem is Robin has been doing it at 78 rpm's his whole life instead of a comfortable 33 1/3 LP.
