Nasty Insomnia right now. I think I'll take Ambien CR tonight - should I be drinking this beer?

Two things you should definitely NOT mix are Ambien and booze of ANY sort. Ambien can cause enough weird shit on its own, and mixing it with alcohol will just make it even worse.

Let's put it this way: Ambien = walking around with a bucketful of gasoline. Ambien + booze = walking around with a bucketful of gasoline in one hand, and a lit torch in the other.

I don't smoke anything, and never have, so I've never had a marijuana buzz. Ambien, however, can give you a nice chemical kick in the ass. I've taken it for insomnia in the past, and there's nothing quite like wandering to the bathroom with jello legs and no sense of direction.

But alcohol use will disrupt your sleep. Don't forget that. If you really need the sleep, I'd lay off the beer for a few days, and get a regular sleep pattern re-established.
