Celebrities use 'ghost tweeters' to update Twitter accounts
Not a suprise really

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/technology/twitter/5058445/Celebrities-use-ghost-tweeters-to-update-Twitter-accounts.html

A number of high-profile names, US president Barack Obama and rapper 50 Cent, now employ staff to update their microblogs on the social messaging website. Some celebrities have over half a million followers on the site, which allows users to post random thoughts and real-time updates on their lives, many of whom consider Twitter to offer a connection to their favourite famous face.

Britney Spears - one of Twitter's most popular subscribers - is one big name who likes to delegate her updating duties. She recently posted an advertisement for an assistant whose duties would include the management of content for her official Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Mr Obama - who made his first official 'tweet' since his inauguration earlier this week - employs the services of a dedicated "social networking team" to create content for his online endeavours.

Hip-hop star Kanye West recently admitted to hiring two people to blog on his behalf, telling New York Magazine that his decision to farm out the updates was "just like how a designer would work".

1. If I understand the Twittering thingy correctly, then
all these high-profilers either have telepathic connections to their Twittering staff (thus, to post "random thoughts") or they aren't quite clear on the concept ;)

And yet another social-networking system becomes yet another shallow marketing tool...

2. What did they think would happen?
Trouble is, you just know that politicians will be the worst offenders on this front.
