"Pull My Finger" lets loose dispute
But it's no laughing matter — well, maybe just a bit — for Loveland-based InfoMedia Inc., which finds itself in a legal dispute over the marketing of its new iPhone application.

It's called, naturally, iFart.

The concept is simple. Purchase the application from Apple's App Store for 99 cents, load it on your iPhone or iPod, then proceed to amuse or embarrass friends by selecting from a variety of noises including "Jack the Ripper," "Brown Mosquito" and "Burrito Maximo."

Funny, or not, so far.

But here's the problem. In news releases and videos to market its high-tech Whoopee cushion, InfoMedia has used the phrase "pull my finger."

That's an age-old flatulence reference. It also happens to be the name of a competing iPhone application.

Florida-based Air-O-Matic's "Pull My Finger" was the No. 2 seller for a brief period earlier this year on the iPhone App Store, before being supplanted by iFart, which went on to become the No. 1 application for 22 consecutive days — an impressive feat in the fast-changing world of iPhone apps.

(I find it particularly appropriate the Post filed this under "breaking news.")

4. I must admit that it made me laugh. Especially the mosquito one!
My husband has it on his iPod touch. Silly and gross but funny!

Where's my flying car? Where's my perpetual motion machine?

What's that? I can have an electronic fart generator instead?
