OK, we've seen the worst. What was the BEST spin-off from a show?
My first thought was Law and Order:SVU which, IMO, was better than the original. However, after further research, I learned that The Andy Griffith Show was a spin-off of the Danny Thomas Show and I now I am kind of torn. While I love SVU and I have watched all of the episodes numerous times, I think you could also make a case for Andy Griffith as the best spin-off. What were your favorites?

3. Colbert
it was a spin off of the Daily Show

Frasier is probably the best regular programming spin off

4. Wow, forgot about Frasier! I might be inclined to agree with you.
I thought of Colbert too but that wasn't the type of spin-off I was thinking about.

7. Yes she was Edith's cousin. there were 3 spinoffs of that show and 2 spinoffs of spinoffs
The JEfferson's
Good Times (the mom was Maude's maid)
and the horrible "Archie's Place"

were all spin offs of that show

Other spin-offs of All in the Family include:

* Archie Bunker's Place was technically a spin-off, but was more of a continuation of the series.
* Gloria, wherein Gloria divorces Mike and starts a new life.
* 704 Hauser features the Bunkers' house with a new family.

There were also two spin-offs from spin-offs of All in the Family:

* Good Times, features Maude's former maid Florida Evans and her family in a Chicago housing project.
* Checking In, the Jeffersons' maid Florence gets her own show.

Squiggy: We have company coming to stay, can we borrow some sheets?

Shirley: What's wrong with your own sheets?

Squiggy: They're hard.

But they're all part of that David E. Kelley dramedy empire

25. It's a spin-off of "The Practice"
"The Practice", in turn, had cross-overs with "Ally McBeal", "Gideon's Crossing", and "Boston Public", all David Kelley shows.

Of course, depending on your definition of "spin-off", you could make the case for "Star Trek: The Next Generation".

ok, not really, but it has a bunch of cast from the West Wing. Josh, Matt, and Danny leave the west wing to run a television sketch comedy show.
