it's cool, I've got my little makeshift bunker under the mattress setup and I'll run there when I hear the "freight trains"

One was spotted on the ground a few miles from here. it's all quiet outside right now....police scanner is going apeshit, however.

Did you get the sirens up in Omaha, Sunday I think it was when they went off here.

5. We had sirens one day last week. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday? And a storm.
It's just COLD here today. I just put on two pairs of socks. My feet are freezing!

2. Dorothy
Hi,
Yeah, it can be cool but scary when they actually touch down. Sirens went off here Sunday night and four touched down, luckily none in town.
Hope you stay safe.

Peace

6. Police scanners are good to listen to during those times.
They'll set off our entire county sirens at times when it may be the opposite end of the county that is in danger. The scanner lets us know pretty much the location, often long before tv does.

Stay safe.

9. Meh, you got a line with a bow echo
possible gustnadoes and occasional tornadoes form along there, but high wind and hail are your biggest risks along with lightning.

Some rotation in the storms, but they exchange energy so fast down the line it is yes, dangerous, but not like an F5 or F4 coming your way. Stay inside, away from windows, in an inside room if possible, and let it pass.

13. I'm lucky, we don't have any tornado sirens around here!
We get tornados but at least I don't have to hear the noise from a siren.
