It seems that some people have nothing better to do than to tell the bosses about how all the stuff you do is wrong. They seem to have all the time in the world, Why aren't they doing their own work> I have to rant about busy bodies that totally bug me.

1. Why can't your bosses determine the quality/productivity of your work for themselves?

3. Often they can't.
If what you do is technical, and the boss can't do it himself, then how can he judge your work? He can ask other people's opinions and find out whether you have a good reputation. He can watch to see when you come to work, when you leave, and whether you seem to be busy. But basically he is clueless. This happened a lot when I used to work as an engineer in the aerospace business.

2. Leaving a NARWHAL in the cubicle of the offending coworker would be appropriate.

4. I would probably try very very hard to find a different work environment.
But if not, I think I might just be observant and try to see what's up.

What matters most is if your boss believes them or sees them as meddling shitstirrers.

If she/he is on their side, get outta there, if he's not maybe just put up with it.

Good luck.
