Your advice regarding how to treat aging cats has made a huge difference
I had made a post about how my cat seemed so sad lately, and although he had traditionally been a loner, I received some advice about how aging cats need more attention, affection and love. And since then I have been paying super extra attention to my cat and he seems so much happier I can't even tell you.

Now if I could just get him to lose a bit of weight!

Anyway, thank you all for your great advice. He truly seems much happier. Sometimes, when we play, he is like a kitten again.

3. Yes, my sweet cat needs it too.
He was so cold, I thought he didn't care, but he cares a lot.

2. Mine is getting more clingy as he gets older
He's not "old", just calming down a bit

4. Nice to have a good outcome so simply, isn't it?
My cat's still young but clingy because he was abandoned. As long as we let him cling, he's happy.

6. My kitty was a stray originally and was very bitey
Shortly after I adopted her, she ate some stretchy potholder thread which became entangled in her intestines. I did not realize she had done this until I noticed a thread hanging out of her mouth. I pulled on it, and I realized it really was entangled within her. It was Thanksgiving Day, and I managed to find a vet who did emergency surgery on her. He told me it took 4 cuts into her intestines to remove the elastic thread and this kitty who had previously been so quick to bite turned into a sweetie pie.

It was as if she realized her life had been saved.

Now she is 16 and slowing down although she is still very playful. She wants to be held and cuddled a lot more than before and will nuzzle my ear and give me sweet kitty kisses.
Just realize they are elderly and need more pampering. My sweet kitty gives me so much love, and you will find they will return your love ten-fold.
