Watching Sex In The City Movie - Does it get better?
My god. We used to watch this show on HBO when it was a series. It was funnier than hell. So far I'm a half hour into this movie and it SUCKS. Haven't laughed once.

Does it get better?

1. No.
Subjective taste of course. Others will inevitably disagree.

But the answer is no.

2. There is something missing....
Can't put my finger on it.......

It may be that the lead character has lost some of her edge because she' snow living the fairytale life she wanted during the series.

Or it might be that the thing was just thrown together to get these people on film and make money.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

4. That was the problem
I'm kind of the wrong person to review it.

My aunt was in town, begged me to see it. I just don't say no to an invitation from someone who comes all the way from San Fran.

Not at all my type of movie. I watched No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood both that night to get the taste out of my mouth.

7. Hey, this show was hilarious when it was on HBO until the end...
My wife and I used to laugh our asses off when this show first started out. It was hilarious. Now it's flat....

9. A two-hour movie is going to have an entirely different pace
than a half-hour series. It feels different because the story is not going to be wrapped up in 30 minutes. YMMV, of course. :)

14. Figured out some of the problems...but do have to say...
the last third or so of the movie did get better.

Still, there was something huge missing and that I can't quite figure out. Still, some of the problems, when compared to most of the seasons of the show were it seemed something was just thrown together to get these four women back on screen together. Also, many scenes felt to be too scripted and over-written.

I was glad to see them get some of their humor back (the overgrown forest of the attorney and Charlotte's little water problem in Mexico).....

And I think it was best when the four women returned to their natural selves from the series.

10. I liked "No Country For Old Men" better. And I'm a chick.
I enjoyed the SiTC TV show but to me the movie seemed like just an episode of the TV show that went on for too long.

12. SATC Was The One Show That Makes Money for HBO after its Initial Run
Most of their shows, "The Sopranos", "Oz", "Deadwood", "The Wire", "Rome", and "Carnivale" had huge production costs and scant secondary market profits. You don't see many of these shows in regular syndication except for SATC.

13. Well, if you recall....
I believe from the start, the creators of SATC filmed extra/cut down scenes explicitly for regular television airing. And I would imagine The Wire will become profitable and shows like OZ and Deadwood will be very hard to fit in on regular tv airings.

15. I thought it got better after the sickening wedding frenzy
crap. After the big crisis, it seems to be more interesting, in my opinion.

But it wasn't a great movie. Hard to believe they're doing a sequel

17. It's like a copy of Vogue
95% advertising for designer clothes. :P I liked it, as I like a fluffy funny movie every so often.
