Are These Sandhill Cranes?
I was driving home, and saw these birds (big ones). This is on our property, so I quick went home, got the camera, and came back. They were still still there!
Not the best quality (I had to be quick):

3. Tons of sandhill cranes
in my area. It's interesting listening to their "calls". Several year ago I was walking way back in the woods and saw two cranes "dancing" - it was a great site, and I felt very privileged.

4. Yes, those are Sandhill Cranes.

Good shooting, you don't get to see them very frequently. Aren't they cool looking? And so big, they always seemed kind of prehistoric to me.

5. I Actually Got Pretty Close,
and they didn't seem to move. It's a rural area here (northern Wisconsin), and I pulled over and walked toward them. They didn't move a bit. I probably could have gotten closer, but it was in a swamp.

8. Yep! We had a mom and two kids in our neighborhood
last year--they loved the front yards as much as the woods in back! They reminded us of dinosaurs--so cool to have as neighbors!
