8. So sorry.... I am having eye issues too. I am wearing an eye patch right now!

I have had a recurrent problem with major eye irritation. I thought it was a sty the first time, but it has happened every 5-6 weeks for the last several months. It is the same eye each time. It gets irritated, starts tearing, etc. And you know how hard it is to NOT touch your eye when it is irritated! The first time, I couldn't stop dabbing at the corner of it to wipe the tears, and I woke up the next morning, looking like a red golf ball had been switched for my eye. Since then, when it happens, I have put on an eye patch to try to prevent me from messing with it. I finally have a doctor's appt this week. It took me months because of a new job, and then I was in the middle of changing insurance companies and couldn't get a "new patient" appt for 3 weeks once the waiting period was up. I am SO damn sick of dealing with this almost once a month. I hope there is something positive to report after the appointment!!!

I had to have one surgically removed once. Quite an interesting story, it was a really fast procedure though. Just something odd having your eyelid peeled back and seeing a scalpel zooming in, hehe.

14. I don't know if this will help, but my mom

(who grew up in the rural south during the 1920s) said that one of the "folk" (i.e., Huck Finn) cures was to go down to the local crossroads, spit (these always have spitting) and (this is the yucky part) stir up the spit into mud (not sure if this is to be done with a stick, your foot, your hand/finger, or some other body part), then turn around 3 times and say: Sty, Sty in my eye: Go to the next one passes by.

I hope this helps, because anything more intensive probably includes dead cats and wandering around graveyards at midnight

18. Not sure if this will work for you

but we boil a tea bag, squeeze the water out, and put it on the sty as hot as you can stand it. Don't have it hot enough to burn yourself, but I guess it's the heat that helps it.
