Good morning Lounge
:hi: :loveya:

How are you today?

So I will be staying home today :D A handyman was supposed to come tomorrow to exchange the counters on my heaters. Since tomorrow I have a meeting to attend and my boss has a bunch of meetings to attend I decided to call the handyman and he is coming today already. I took the day off today on my overtime (I have enough) and stay home.
Now, what should I do till the handyman comes (no idea when that will be. Probably in the afternoon)?

8. Here in California that's practically prehistoric
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 02:19 AM by XemaSab
:D

(And I mean that almost literally. We achieved statehood in 1850, and a lot of the state was 100% Native American at that time, except for some Spanish/Mexican settlements along the coast.)

16. The California Indians
Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 02:48 AM by XemaSab
didn't build buildings or make much lasting art. They were big into basketry, and there are a few petroglyphs around, but aside from that...

The only thing I can think of that they REALLY went to town on in the state are grinding holes for acorns.

didn't the Native Americans of Northern California made them? Or the ones even further north? At least the ones that lived on the Pacific coast.

9. Good Morning, MHC!
That photo reminds me of the cover shot from
my favorite Bahaus album. It was all live recordings
they did for the BBC, entitled "Swing the Heartache" IIRC.

Their live version of "St. Vitus Dance" was so much better
than the studio version they recorded for general release.

26. Well, the first thing you should know about BAHAUS:
They singlehandedly kicked off the "GOTH" movement.
Anyone who says otherwise is either very dishonest or very mistaken.

They did it with 4 minutes of the 2nd-best LIVE performance
in recorded human history:

I mean I know Bauhaus as architecture. But since it is a Goth band and Gothic isn't really my music ....

I will listen to it at one point.

29. That's the thing: It was never a "Goth" band.
There were no "Goths" back then, and they never tried to create any.

It was a very UNIQUE band, and that one particular live performance
lit the fuse on the entire GOTH movement. One performance among many.

They had actually declared the band to be a FAILURE, and had broken up
before teenagers in black clothes and heavy mascara began clumping up
on street corners, and a thousand copycat wannabe groups started trying
to copy the FEEL of those four magnificent minutes.

sorbet are different, although I like them both. Sorbet is mostly fruit and/or fruit juice - no dairy while sherbet contains dairy or egg. Typically it's smoother than sorbet.
