Would it be terribly wrong to bust into the cantelope before the kids get home?
I've got the munchies for the melon. I could hide the crime by cutting it up and leaving what I don't eat in a zip-lock in the fridge as "ready to eat" lope, but I would still feel guilty. Would this make me a bad father?

2. Nope. Eat it.
I like the idea of making the rest "ready to eat." The kids won't care, will they?

3. It is the ritual.
The visual, the smell, the anticipation, all special features of the ritual sacrifice of a melon to the childrens' belly gods.

I guess I could get away with it, but I'm torn.
