1. It does seem to have a little bit of an editorial edge to it.
Although the Baptist, Mormon, and Scientologist rankings seem to be mostly accurate, if not a bit high. The others I'm not sure about. I guess there wasn't room in the <60 range for shrubs and other Texahegians or Alaskan governors.

19. The ability two hold two contradictory ideas in your head at the same time
... is not quite as genius as the ability two hold two contradictory ideas in your head at the same time while playing "Red River Valley" on the harmonica. Now that would be fucking genius!

6. wow
I beat out the Shintos with a little room to spare in my depressed phase. In the manic phase, I'm kind of off that chart. But then, although I'm not an atheist I've also always found it hard to follow *any* organized religion. :o

I'm not sure fucking like a beast can be assessed by "self-measurement." I've tried a self test and about as much as I can claim is that I fuck like a really awesome palm.

12. Don't worry. IQ scores are utter crap.
You can't actually measure intelligence. It's too situational to be quantifiable. What an IQ test tests is your ability to take IQ tests. There's a dozen different tests out there and they're all fraught with dozens of cultural biases.

I realize that. I operate on the theory that every human possesses some skill or knowledge where they excel.

My "grrr" was more about my selfish need for positive reinforcement.

23. I think I might know why the curve is heavy on the Asian Religion.
First a little background.
The Noodleboy was raised by a child psychologist. I used to take IQ tests for fun. If my dad could have built a Skinner box big enough, I'd a been in it.

Right after college I got a job as a note taker at the U of M. I sold a lot of copies of the Individual Differences, a stats/psych class that dealt mainly with bell graph, deviation toward the mean, Twins studies etc.

One touchy thing about IQ is that it DOES correlate along ethnic, racial and socio-economic lines (groups not individuals). It is important to remember however, as someone pointed out earlier, your IQ score shows how well you take IQ tests. That's it.

Taoism, and to a greater degree Shintoism, are Japanese religions. I don't think I'm painting with too broad a brush to say that the japanese educational model stresses memorization and test-prep. Like studying for the SAT's x10. So. You have a population that as a group, tends to score highly on tests and culturally happens to ascribe to Eastern philosophies. There ya go.

peace
Noodleboy

24. Jews have higher IQs than that
Ashkanazi jews (who make up 80% of the world's jews) have an IQ of around 107-112.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashkenazi_intelligence

That chart puts them at about 101.

25. Interesting
Most Asian religions are non-dualistic. Maybe the tradition of being able to hold more than one point of view encourages more creative problem solving?

Or maybe presenting this graph on April First tests the thinking skills of Westerners.
