and, you have some good reason for showing us your Atari instead?

ON EDIT: Oops! My bad. I thought that was an Atari ST not an XE!

I had an Atari 800 then Amiga 500 then Amiga 3000. I was never a fan of the Atari ST series.

Nice knee, BTW!

Edited on Wed Apr-01-09 12:09 AM by qnr
though. Me, I like both the STs/TTs and the Amigas. Basically, the Amiga was an Atari anyway, the Amiga Lorraine was the Atari 1600, developed by Jay Miner (developer of the Atari 400 and 800) and crew and funded by Atari, but bought out by Commodore. Funny thing is, Atari was working on the "High Sierra" (or perhaps just Sierra, I forget) computer that would have blown the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga out of the water, but when Jack Tramiel bought Atari, he fired everyone and closed all research projects and didn't even hear about High Sierra until years later.

Edit: Yeah :) extraneous knee inclusion is a hazard of a 14mm lens heheh

Hah! Nice to meet you!

I was hardware purist... firmly in the Miner chipset camp... First I owned an Atari 800... Then Atari 1200XL... Then years later... I became appreciative of the AmigaOS and it's multitasking... I avoided Windows altogether and tolerated MacOS because I was a graphics designer. When MacOS X was introduced... I was excited by computers again... like my old Amiga days.

I've never known anyone who actually owned an Atari TT... but my friend used to make the coolest music with his ST (until the floppy with his MIDI software finally wore out in the mid 90's).

Nerdily yours,

Target Practice

37. Nice to meet you too!
Well, I went the Atari ST route first because I didn't have a lot of money and couldn't buy both at once. Since I wasn't into games and and I was more involved with high resolution monochrome graphics, the output of Atari's monochrome monitor hooked me immediately. I bought numerous other Ataris (ST, STe and variations, Mega ST, TT) and 3 Amigas (A500 and two A2000s) over the years.

I bought both a 400 and an 800 within two months of each other in 1979 (they were much cheaper in the military exchange catalog at the time). I'm glad you've found happiness with MacOS X - I like what I've heard. For me, even though I've been heavily involved in computers since 1979, I've never personally owned a Mac or Windows machine (though I did own an Atari Portfolio), preferring alternates like those mentioned, and offbeat ones like Oberon, Minix, and many others.

I'm left handed but hammer/drill/t.v remote control with my right hand. I like to have my right elbow supported when I'm doing a lot of computing.

Also the taskbar was on the left monitor because this set-up is new. Getting TwinView set-up can be tricky sometimes. I finally got the Taskbar on the right and use Opera/email on the left screen and have Firefox/DU on the Right.

But thanks for askin.

I bought a small plastic storage unit from Target and all stuff that was on the desk is in the storage unit.

My desk will stay neat.

I promise.

I like being able to find things.

I have a new lap top coming soon so I neede the extra space for the new printer that is coming with it.

Two laps tops and two printers plus a dvd/recorder, a dvd player, and my little ten inch digtial tv stacked on each other.

Yes I am turning neat.
