my brother is convinced the guy on the left is a ghost. I'm convinced its a tourist in an badly taken photograph. what say you? Sorry it's so big, but you can really see the details, like say he's wearing SHORTS, not a soldiers uniform.

2. Definitely a tourist. However, there appears to be a petrified man in the center, maybe he saw
a ghost in the other direction.

4. Of course it looks like a ghost - the picture is so fucking pixilated, it's ridiculous.
Ghost my ass.

Tell your brother to get a better resolution camera, learn some goddamn physics, and learn some goddamn math.

12. lol, i would if he had actually taken the photo
he found it on a supposed ghost hunters site (not THE SciFi channel Ghost Hunters) and was convinced it was a ghost. i was thinking he was trying to pull an april fools prank over on me, but I think HE was duped.

5. I'm gonna say "could be" once I get some other info
;)

The image looks like it was taken with the infrared filter missing, or it's an IR-capable digital camera. One way to know that is due to the fact that vegetation comes out white or very light gray because of all the IR it reflects. That could also be due to ramping up the gamma in an image-editing program from an image that was possibly way under-exposed.

The other bit to know is how long the shutter was open. As it is shot into the sun for a silhouette, it likely wasn't long enough to allow a tourist to move fast enough and blur to the point of transparency as is discernible if you look closely. The graininess/noise is high because it was probably taken at a very high ISO rating, too, which then makes blurring bystanders even more difficult. You'll have to look at the image properties to get all of that info, then you'll know more about whether it's fake or not :)

21. Then isn't that one of the kinds of cameras people that do
"ghost hunting" use? ;)

Still not sure if this is a ghost image or not, but IR does give one a glimpse of a world we rarely look into, at least for anything other than forensics.

7. That's clearly, inarguably a ghost.
However, the only reason he's manifesting himself is to distract the view from the flying saucer near the top of the picture, left of center.

10. Whether or not he's in a uniform, nothing in the picture says "ghost."
Oh, it's clearly been processed to heighten the spookiness--but there's not enough info in it to prove or disprove anything.

16. What scares me ...

... is I knew where that was even before I saw Gouverneur Warren.

You can see some weird shit up there at certain times of day, especially when the sun is blinding you or reflecting off one of the little streams below.
