I wish that some, but not all, could be California Girls...
...because after 3+ decades in California, the women closest to my heart aren't "natives."

4. New England women transplanted to California are the most amazing...
...because I was born and raised in South Hamilton Massachusetts, and every time I meet a New England woman in California, I think:

"I wish they all could be New England Girls transplanted to California"

In all fairness, Brian Wilson grew up in California, so he lacked any context, but for my money, someone needs to pay appropriate tribute to NEW ENGLAND WOMEN in song.

3. Aw, CP...how could you even ask?
A poet
A photographer
A merciless dropper of f-bombs when they're called for
That's the "Triad of Wonderfulness!"

7. As a man raised and living in California - CA girls have a certain straight forwardness about them
What you see is what you get - and I like that. No BS - no made up crap beyond the usual human flaws.

My wife is an Oregon Girl, but they do fall under California Style.

As does WA.

Sorry :)

9. A 100% true story for you...
...I came to California for two vacations...1968 and 1970. In 1972, my family and I moved from Massachusetts to California.

In 1968, my brother in law...another transplanted New Englander...told me something on our drive from the airport.

"Mike, in California, girls are going to walk right up to you and say FUCK YOU MIKE."

He was RIGHT.

They DID.

Not that it was a good thing.

I still think that the mightiest woman on the planet might be a New England woman who has relocated to California, because she encompasses the best of both worlds.

14. It is, but New England women are "real as the day is long" (to quote Neil Young)...
...and the first "California fuck you" I received was...let's be honest here...less than a "magic moment."

11. Never been to Mississip', but I'll take your word for it.
There are many, many, MANY things wrong with New England.

John Mellencamp wrote about that "small town" thing, but one of my New England small town neighbors "did a Hemingway" (climbed into a tree, stuck a shotgun in his mouth, and blew out his fucking BRAINS)...

There are many, many things I love about New England, but Sweet Jesus...the greatest single moment in my life was LEAVING NEW ENGLAND.
