Gawd only knows mom can be irritating. I should get all liquored up and just shoot her. I could probably take a few others out before I get arrested. Or shoot myself.

I'd better get a gun. It's my Constitutional right, ya know.

8. Oh, sorry.
The problem is there will be a lot of debate due to strong feelings on the issue. Oh, I don't have a donor star because I am being laid off at the end of this month. Sorry if I can't justify spending any money at this particular moment, I have donated in the past when I posted under the name "WCross". I will try to find a job as soon as possible in order to satisfy your demand that I have a donor star in order to observe that this type of post does not belong in the lounge.

You do not have to justify your no star status!

Sorry you're losing your job. I hope things turn around for you and soon.

I'm living in fear of us losing our jobs here too. It's a day to day thing.

27. For me it's a good thing to be let go.
I never would have left if I hadn't been pushed out, I hated every minute in the place. The only reason I stayed was the paycheck. I have never felt more relieved than on the day I was informed. Now I haven't a worry in the world, I can live on unemployment, I get two years worth due to the Nafta-Taa program & am going to try something I've always wanted to try but didn't have the time. (I'll let everyone know what that is if it works out)

I hope that you don't lose your job (if you enjoy it). Things are getting bad for a lot of people thanks to the hangover Bush left us with.

9. Just so happens I may be selling one.
Yeah, I bought it because I thought it was now or never.

A wanted a good target shooting rifle and this one came with a match-grade barrel and a removable rear sight so I scope can be added. I zeroed it in, but it on a bipod and it is no more accurate at 100 yds. than my .22. Sometimes it hits the 3" target. Sometimes it misses. Maybe it is just that I'm not used to it. Still, the trigger is stiff of a target grade rifle and its "heavy" barrel is still a lot lighter than a dedicated target rifle. Plus, being an semi-automatic means that it is a bee-atch to keep clean. With bolt action, it is remove the bolt, clean the barrel and bolt face and then replace the bolt. Done. 20 minutes to do a good job. Well that over-engineered AR15 requires these cleaning steps. 1. remove receiver pins. 2. Remove stock and trigger. 3. Rinse off trigger with Nitro Solvent. 4. Remove charging handle and bolt carrier. 5. dissasemble bolt carrier and remove bolt, firing pin, retaining pin. 6. clean bolt face and de grease other bolt parts. 7. clean chamber with special AR chamber brush. 8. Install special AR bore cleaning guide. 9. Clean barrel in the usual way. 10. Reassemble bolt carrier using special AR/M-16 oil. 11. Reassemble. Two & 1/2 hours. I wasn't at the range that long!

Well I'll shoot it through the summer. If I don't get any better at it, it will be time for a sale.

13. Jeez, I can't use that thing for home defense.
Those bullets travel almost 3000 feet per second. Right through the burglar, the wall, the neighbor's wall and then the neighbor. Plus the jury will take one look at that rifle and think I just looking for an excuse to shoot someone.

I don't have any neighbors but it is overkill for home defense. I think a shotgun is not only adequate but more effective.

14. I Sold A Lot Of Guns Last Year And The Year Before...
I inherited a shitload from my father-in-law, shotguns, rifles and pistols. I only kept one WWII pistol and the old shotgun I had before I got married. Had I known the wingnuts were all gonna go apeshit I would have kept them and made a killing now.

23. Yeah, because guns don't kill people...
people kill people. And people with guns kill lots of people, really really quickly, way before anyone can possibly stop them, even if they have a gun too.

And as we know, the Constitution is always perfect and has never ever been amended.

26. I have several firearms that I plan to sell this year
so I can purchase some camera equipment. The camera stuff would at least get used regularly, whereas these particular weapons have never been fired and just set in a safe year after year.

The simple fact is that there are many more effective and efficient methods readily available if one wishes to cause large scale mayhem. Firearms are only used by angry underachievers.

40. In my youth the 1911 was a bit out of my price range
so I shot mainly old single action revolvers. After a tour in the Navy (USS Constellation, CV64 (I'm also and old guy)) I had a bit more disposable income and started collecting. The warhorses haven't been modified, but several of the modern models have had the grip safety pinned and other mods in an effort to improve the trigger for target shooting.
