New Forum?

It seems to me that discussions in the Lounge these days are what discussions used to be in GD. You know, friendly debates about current events, but with a friendly tone. And the Lounge used to be fun and silly and kind of the comic relief when your brain needed to rest and recreate. GD has become so serious and hostile that the formers GDers now bring their friendly minds to the Lounge, and I enjoy the Lounge. However, there is no longer a "let's be silly for a while" forum at DU, so I propose a new forum, possible called "General Inane Discussion" or "The Gossip Lounge." (open to other titles if you have them). Then we could revive Pointless Vanity Posts et al. Whattaya say? You know you miss 'em.

Yes, Virginia, GD was once like that, but it was many years ago.

5. Boy, that is not what I'm seeing at all. Just the opposite.

The Lounge seems the same, but more and more discussions in GD are superficial beyond belief, like how to prepare potatoes, and that kind of thing.
