Zeus was traumatized this weekend... He could not handle company, so he had to get crated.

Going back to sleep...

:(

When I got up for real, he wasn't in bed - he was on the dog bed in the corner. And he ate really slowly ... And didn't want to go out...

He's lying on the bed looking sad right now

Little MB and her daddy will check on him when he picks her up after school today.

I am sure he is just a little shook up. He was trying to ram the door open! I would hear these little steps and then a bump on the door, followed by whining....

3. Mornin' Miss H
That is a beautiful picture. It's so good that it looks like a work of art.

I didn't do a whole hell of a lot last weekend. Just the mandatory laundry and goofing off. I did discover a favorite new band, though, which is really cool because they have 9 albums out and a new one coming in June. I've got all of that wonderful music to enjoy now. It's a thing of beauty.

Do you like any American music? What are your favorite bands? I must admit, the only bands I know of from Germany are the Scorpions and Rammstein. :)

5. Good morning Droopy
:hi:

Thank you. I took the picture in the Black Forest last year.

I like American music. I am mainly in HipHop and R&B but also like song writers like Leonard Cohen and Joan Baez. We hear American music all the time on the radio here in Germany.

In the last year a lot of new German bands popped up. I am not so much into their music. One group that is around quite some years already are "Die Toten Hosen" Here is one of their most famous songs in English http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4txxeCI5zmg The song came out in the 80s.
Other German bands are Die Ärzte (long time around too), Silbermond or Seeed (which I like).

It's 100% better than what most of our pop and rock bands were coming up with back in the 80s. But I see you all were not immune to making cheeseball videos like we did back then. :) I know of Joan Baez but I had never heard of Leonard Cohen before I started posting on DU. According to the folks here I'm missing out on something.

You definitely need to check out Leonard Cohen. He is a fantastic singer and song writer. I totally love his music.

I just need to be more careful when I'm lifting.

11. Good morning MissH!
That pic is just stunning, very beautiful. You should frame it and hang it up in your condo.

My weekend was fabulous. Went out with friends Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. Several of us stayed the night at a friends place, and we all had a breakfast together on Sunday morning.

Tomorrow getting together with two friends after work. We all have April birthdays and always get together to celebrate and exchange gifts.

Unfortunately, I didn't get much done around the old homestead, but I decided to take Friday off of work, so not only do I have a short work week :) I've got a three day weekend to enjoy, and catch up with domestic chores if I so choose.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful b.day. And will have another "party" tomorrow. I have some friends who have b.day in April too. Today, tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday .... each day one b.day

I am so proud of myself that I cleaned my windows. Sounds nutz but I hate cleaning windows.

Oh, I know what you mean about cleaning windows. My last place had a million windows, all double hung and not fun to take apart and put together. I HATED, HATED, HATED cleaning them and to be truthful, did not clean them every year.

My new place has fewer windows and are much easier to clean. No more climbing up on ladders either.

Yes, your picture is great and I'm serious - you should frame it! I do that with my own pics that I like. And actually, that's all I have on my walls, my own work! :)

I have to climb on the ladder to clean mine. But at least I don't have to take them apart. I doubt I will clean then more than once or twice a year.

I have some photos on my wall - or will have again - but not all are mine. :)

Andrew went home on Saturday. Sure was quiet after he left! I cleaned the basement a bit and watched some TV.

I mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday. No, my mower is STILL not fixed. Time for a letter to John Deere. It's a dangerous problem that's wrong with it -- doesn't shut off like it's supposed to when you get off the seat. x(

28. Nope, not too long.
Enough to wear out his old grandma, though. ;)

That's what I'm thinking. And it takes an hour to drive it to the place since they closed the local one. Very big pain in the neck. And now that it's spring, I need the damn thing. Can't leave it there for them to tinker with when the mood hits them. And to think, I wanted to buy a Gator and a tractor one day. If this is a sample of their quality, they can keep it.

Not sure. He called Friday night wanting to fax us something, but we couldn't get the fax machine set up. So he said he'd mail it to us. K told me not to lose sleep worrying. I guess he's known a lot of people who have gone through the same thing. No word from E so I don't know if he's coming at all this week. If I'd known for sure that he wasn't coming, I might have slept in a bit. Been doing that all weekend!

Hey, good news ... I was puttering around with income tax. Got the federal finished and actually got the refund already. Then I remembered that TN has some strange income tax on interest and dividends. Well, guess what? I overpaid for two years! I thought the interest on the savings account was taxable, but it's not. The friend we used to have who is an accountant led me down the wrong path that first year. So not only do we not have to pay this year, but we get to amend our returns from the last 2 years and get some money back! :bounce:

48. you could
:D

I don't know, seriously, if I would recommend it. There was a lot that was really good with it - the actors were great, the directing was good, the tone was interesting, but because the ending fell apart so drastically, it made the whole movie a "so what" film. As in, why did I bother to spend two hours of my life watching this.

49. Oh OK
i know that feeling. When I watched "Burn after reading" the first part was really funny. But when they started shooting each other I felt like :wtf: Didn't like the ending.

51. G'day, MissH
:hi:

Back around to Monday. I did get some training and running, between rehearsal and getting ready for rehearsal. Maybe the week will give me a break and I can take off a day for my birthday.

Nice pic of the day, where is that?

I had a pretty good weekend. I worked all weekend but I was able to hang out with some old school friends on Friday and then went to a birthday party after work on Saturday!

73. Hey Miss H. I don't know if you saw this or not, so I'm going to put it in here, too.
Thanks to a suggestion from the match-making MissHoneychurch, a woman I've been writing to for a while has finally given me her phone number. I met her on a dating site and had exchanged 31 e-mails with her and was about to give up. I talked to her for the first time yesterday and was very surprised to hear what she sounded like. From her e-mails I had gathered that she wasn't the most confident person. I'm not exactly Mr. Confidence myself. But she was very shy on the phone. We didn't have a very good conversation. I think she's a good person, and she's going through a hard time right now. I just need to find a way to make her feel more comfortable. She's going through a divorce and I think I'm the first guy to express an interest since that's happened.

75. No, I didn't see that
thanks for letting me know. I was to ask about it when we talked earlier but figured I don't want to appear to nosy (which I am).

So good that she trusted you enough to give you her number. Maybe when you talk the next time the conversation will be better when she feels more at ease.

I need to do the windows around here too. Maybe one Saturday ;)

My weekend was ok. Work drama is getting on my nerves, but I have decided that I won't cave on a stance I'm taking and will deal with the consequences as they come.

I got a jar of some yum yum yummy strawberry brandy to have at the house. :9

Why is there always drama at work, no matter where you work. We have some drama going on here too .... it starts to get annoying even though it doesn't involve me. Well it does involve me as being a member of the worker's association

85. I'm coming to the conclusion that it is perspective differences
Humans are a trip. lol

Perspectives seem to be ok usually when common sense is applied...

Fire hot. Well, yes, but how hot. Should we try to cool down fire? Lets talk about ice instead. What fire? I stay away from fire and so should all. Fire is relatively hot.

I'm learning that common sense ain't so common

:)

that in the end.. no matter how you see it.. fire will always be hot.

At this point, that would be a victory ;)

Have a super day MissHoneyC!
