I finally got her phone number
Thanks to a suggestion from the match-making MissHoneychurch, a woman I've been writing to for a while has finally given me her phone number. I met her on a dating site and had exchanged 31 e-mails with her and was about to give up. I talked to her for the first time yesterday and was very surprised to hear what she sounded like. From her e-mails I had gathered that she wasn't the most confident person. I'm not exactly Mr. Confidence myself. But she was very shy on the phone. We didn't have a very good conversation. I think she's a good person, and she's going through a hard time right now. I just need to find a way to make her feel more comfortable. She's going through a divorce and I think I'm the first guy to express an interest since that's happened.

1. Making contact is good, Droopy.
So is going slowly. Just that might make her feel comfortable. Showing support will, too.

2. Thanks BV
I talked to her again shortly after I posted that. She sounded better this time. I think you are right and this is going to take a little time if I want it to go anywhere.

7. I'd like to second this
Especially with people going through divorce. No matter how amicable it is, it's always a pain in the ass, and can bring up a lot of strong emotions.

Just take it easy, enjoy each other's company, and see what happens. Have fun! :)
