I've played with guys who had to be the last one out of the dugout as the defense took the field. Fortunately I've never played with two such guys at the same time.
9. I don't think it's a superstition or standard procedure
It's done on some clubs so the first baseman isn't looking for a ball at the end of the half-inning to start infield warm-ups. He just keeps it in his glove while his side's at bat.
