How are you today?

So today is my Friday. I am off tomorrow and Monday - Easter holidays here in Germany. So I won't be around posting these two days. No reason to worry.

Tonight I am going out with some friends. Looking forward to that. Over the long weekend I haven't planned much. Just do some stuff at home and enjoy the hoepfully nice weather.

Not so much with the new location, but with the trip over there. The longest car ride she's ever taken is about two miles, from here to the vet, and she cries the whole way. I don't know how she's gonna feel about being stuck in her carrier for 50 miles.

She'll have playmates there, though. I've already met two of the neighbor cats; one is very sweet.

did my taxes and found out that I owe the government more money than I would like (of course, any money I owe would be more than I would like). I can make it work, but it's going to be tough this month. :(

And I got bad news on my paper, the prof didn't think I was clear enough (I'm still getting used to academic writing as opposed to more creative writing), so I'm basically going to spend the weekend restructuring it. I'm not looking forward to that either.

The amount I owe the federal government isn't too bad (more than I wanted but not too bad), but the state is killing me. I can kind of understand, Maryland's previous governor screwed the budget over so badly, and then the economic crisis hit...I actually feel really bad for the current governor, who is stuck with the mess. But still.

And they just lowered withholding, so I'm going to go redo my W-4 to have them take out more money. I don't want to end up in this situation again.


Yeah, the paper wasn't "clear enough" - which is really code for, she didn't want to have to think much. Oh well. I kind of knew that what I was doing was a bit risky, so I'll just deal with it and move on. I think I can easily take out one layer of complications I put in, which will make the paper easier to follow. It still sucks, though, because I was really happy with what I'd written.

W-4 is next to useless. It's so hard to figure out how much to withhold. Checking the boxes just doesn't do it, especially if you have a two-income family. We never can manage to get it just right, although we did better this year than usual.

So don't lose what you wrote. Save it in a safe place. Sometimes you have to play the game. Been there with that code. Sucks, doesn't it?

I've already done the Easter event this morning. Now, I'm off to spy penguins and do the circus acts. After that, I may go ahead and unlock the other 70 or so songs in the game. You unlock the songs by walking into certain areas. I've got the 500 you need to unlock the air guitar emote. I just want to unlock them all at some point, just for fun. The most fun though, is the weekly penguin spying, aka The Penguin Hunt. You don't kill them, just spy on them spying on you. It's fun. :D
