does "gay fish" have anything to do with anything Kanye, anything that sounds like anything he ever sang, etc, or is it just a random joke that he is supposedly too stupid to get despite being a self-proclaimed genius?

I don't listen to rap, hip-hop, R&B, etc, so I didn't get the episode at all. The real amusing part of it to me was Eric's revisionist histories about how the joke was written.
