'Cause some characters like Wolverine wouldn't be doing a whole lot to help fix the world as a whole... but goddamned if he ain't bad-ass. :)

I picked the team I'd want on my side to save the world. And sure, Superman would have been useful in many ways. But I don't like his self-righteous attitude.

5. In that case, I'll go for who's gonna get off their ass and help people.

Apollo (from the Wildstorm universe) - All of Superman's power, with a willingness to use it. Also, no weakness for Kryptonite.
Batman - For his planning and ability to make sure shit gets done.
Green Lantern - He's got connections and power. He'll get shit done.
Midnighter - Because Apollo wouldn't come along without him. Besides, he may not have world-shattering power like Apollo or Green Lantern, but he can be one hell of an ace in the hole in a fight.
And since for some reason I seem to be only drawing from the Marvel/Wildstorm universes...
The Doctor (Not the british sci-fi show, the one from Wildstorm) - Because he can do large-scale shit that none of the others I've mentioned can.
