I went to the landfill today.

The oak threshold on by sliding glass door was worn and dirty, so I sanded it down and re-stained it.

Tomorrow I will poly it.

I installed a new mail box today.

I'm not feeling too bad tonight.

Things are going pretty good.

And I'm not being sarcastic when I say this...it is actually very beautiful up there. The landfill proper is really hidden from view to the people just dropping their garbage off in dumpsters.

Grew to love it, and it became a habit from doing home construction projects.

16. I don't think regular people here are allowed access to the landfill.

We have a village recycling center (household trash, PET plastic, glass, aluminum, tin, cooking oils, heavy oils, batteries and paper), and then once a month there's a "large items/white goods" week when we can drop off big stuff for disposal or recycling. Don't even get me started on the lack of garage sales and/or junk stores here -- almost everything gets recycled (which is good I guess, unless you happen to need rusty old stuff for assemblage work). :weep:

I go up there sometimes when I don't really have to.

Mt town's garbage men are picky...sometimes it is just easier to bring stuff to the dump than to figure out what they will and will not take from the curb.
