My German friend's mother makes some to die for cakes - much better than our air cakes with thick frosting style, but I haven't mastered them yet.

Interestingly, hardly anyone here uses baking soda as a leavening agent; I think baking soda, in addition to baking powder, is why American cakes are so light and "high." :hi:
