3. i can't remember the last time i had pineapple upside-down cake
but i would bet that it was about 15 years ago and it sounds damn good right now.

also good ripe fruit and sorbets. Creamy liqueurs over ice too (Amarula is my current fave)

My German friend's mother makes some to die for cakes - much better than our air cakes with thick frosting style, but I haven't mastered them yet.

to PM me for my Aargau Carrot Cake recipe, as well as my Swiss-German mother-in-law's chocolate cake recipe. (Edith's chocolate cake from scratch is so dense that it's like praline.) Interestingly, hardly anyone here uses baking soda as a leavening agent; I think baking soda, in addition to baking powder, is why American cakes are so light and "high." :hi:

Whitey's Chocolate Malt w/Oreo cookies. If you are ever in the Quad Cities of Iowa/Illinois, you have to try this delectable treat.
Chocolate cake. There is no such thing as a bad chocolate cake.
Any pie from Village Inn restaurant. Again, QCA treat. Yum!

37. I *try* to avoid sweets but my three faves are:
1) Key Lime Pie
2) Creme Brulee
3) Cookies from Lakota Bakery in Arlington MA (they are sold elsewhere in the Boston area). They are the best cookies I've ever had. http://www.lakotabakery.com/

I'm gluten intolerant so I only eat them once in a while.
