Wind Beneath my wings

It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way,
you always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name -- for so long,
a beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Chorus
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it,
I would be nothing with out you.

Chorus
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly away,
you let me fly so high.
Oh, fly, fly,
so high against the sky, so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you, thank God for you,
the wind beneath my wings.

1. Couldn't listen.
Reminds me of my daughters, both of whom are upset now.

4. If you haven't see the movie "Beaches", you need to do so.
It adds meaning to the song in a major way.

7. I know it is a chick flick, but it is one of MY personal favorites!
Except that the "Arnold Titsling" song sometimes becomes an earworm.

8. As she would say, one for the road, and one for my baby.
She's a hero.

11. I think so too Peg. My baby sis sent this to me. She's 15 years younger, FFS!
I raised her, and she's the only person who can get away with calling me an asshole.

She has ripped me a new asshole a couple times. And I deserved it. I am also so proud of her and how she came out.

I'm just feeling awfully melancholy right now. I don't think I'm long for this world, so memories are overwhelming me right now.

10. We took ole Thelma Lou to the beach...
the day before. We sat there for a couple hours as she sniffed a bit
and roamed nearby a bit and then she just sat there on the blanket near us...
and she looked like a puppy and an ole girl all at the same time...
We have never regretted that trip to the beach...and when we drive by that
part of the coast...we just know...

P. S. That song always makes me cry...
