Yeah, my life sucks. BoyM has had his license for a grand total of
three, yes, three fucking days and the cops were just here. :eyes:

Apparently, someone thought that he and his friends were acting suspiciously up at the Tennis Courts.

I asked the cop if I could borrow his gun, but he refused. What a douchenozzle. He's supposed to be a public servant.

1. "acting suspiciously"
I'm no lawyer, but I don't see that standing up in any court. Therefore, he must be found "not guilty" and go without punishment.

6. I totalled my car the day after I got my license.
Wasn't my fault, but still. Cops said both myself and my girlfriend should have been killed. Thankfully I'm still here to bug everyone.

18. Problem is. He's actually a very good driver.
Which is comforting, but he forgets things like no one else in the car because of the ADD. I wish I could go to bed and sleep for the next ten years.

23. This is what I don't get
Cautious of what? Did they say he was doing donuts? So far, all we've heard is acting suspicious, from a "neighbor" who probably just hates kids hanging around. It's not even about driving.

Obviously I'm not a mom

25. Here in VA, he's not allowed to have more than one person
in the car with him for the first 120 days after getting his license. He apparently gave a ride to two people, whose names he doesn't know, :eyes: at the behest of a friend. Hence the 'suspicious' behavior.

The cop said that he thought that the complaint probably came from someone who was being 'nosy', but he did stress to BoyM that he could take his license because BoyM fessed up and admitted that he had more than one person in the car.

And, the problem is, insurance wouldn't cover it if he was in an accident, or even just hit by someone else. We were trying to impress that on him; that it would cost us everything we had.

Not to mention that my heart lands in my throat every time he backs out of the driveway.

I don't remember any restrictions like that in NJ, and my car was packed wherever we went. We just weren't supposed to be out after dark for a few months or so

24. Guardian angel.
1985 Ford Mustang. Person passing in my lane heading straight at me. I stomped the brakes and went sideways into a telephone pole at 40 mph. Hit the pole where the frame runs up the door pillar at the windshield. Then, after the bounce, the car continued forward and I dodged several trees turning right then left bringing the metal croissant to a rest against a sapling.

One foot in either direction on that car and we'd not be having this conversation.

9. Hey my son had his license for a week
When he came in and told me 'I had a little accident at the drive-through at Pizza Hut'.

I thought about that for a moment, and replied, puzzled 'There is no drive-through at Pizza Hut'.

'There is now!'

Edited on Tue Apr-14-09 06:01 PM by Drunken Irishman
When we were picking it up the lady at the dealership joked that one day a kid was pulling off the lot in his new car and was sideswiped.

I laughed.

My mom laughed.

I got home, decided to go for a drive and pulled out onto a busy road...only to slam into a car.

I was faulted for improper lookout, they speeding.

It was a messy accident where the entire front end of the car was ripped off.

Actually it was kind of nice of him to give you a heads-up. It's good for kids to know that people notice what they do. Friendly reminder, no consequences.
