Took my son to see Monsters vs Aliens 3D today...
I think the critic I read is either crazy or never watched a B horror movie before. This movie was really cute and clever!

1. I really want to see it
and I've enjoyed several of those computer generated animated films. They are clever and funny--and sometimes they are so clever the riffs in the script go over peoples' head if they don't get the references.

4. I loved the political humor!
:D

We saw it at the drive in a couple of weeks ago.

I think it would have been a lot of fun in 3D.

8. I haven't seen a drive-in theater in 20 years.
I'm glad to hear there are still a few left!

10. There are 4 here within about 40 miles of us.
Three are owned by the same people and are run really well. Of course they double as flea markets during the weekend days.

12. interesting aside-at least to me anyway
Woman i work with has a 8 yr old daughter.

Daughter would complain that when shown 3D this and that-
she did not get what the big deal was.

She went in for new glasses and low and behold she is legally blind
in one eye. Appareently always has been.

How the fuck her previous eye screenings and exams and glasses fittings
missed this detail will always be a mystery.
Mom says it does now explain why she has always had trouble
catching balls, frisbees, and why she sometimes would walk into things claiming
she just did not see them.

By the way-I also have that problem.

anyway
So if you take your kid to a 3d thing and they seem more confused then impressed.
Pay attention.

13. Wow!
Does she have corrective lenses that help her enjoy 3D now?

My son doesn't always wear his glasses; but I encouraged him to take them yesterday, as I wasn't sure how well he'd be able to view the effects without them...He's got pretty strong astigmatism in one eye.
