6. The rash is starting to subside.

It's fading, anyway--not in area, but in redness and itch intensity. He's on 40 mg of prednisone once a day for five days, then 20 for another five days, then 10 for yet another five days after that. Sometime after he's done with the prednisone and it's out of his system, they're going to do one of those big, comprehensive allergy tests on him.

Oh--he also can't ever have mangoes. Apparently, mangoes and poison ivy are in the same family, and mangoes have a compound that's similar to the urushiol in poison ivy; it can cause the same allergic reaction, but more dangerously as the swelling would be in the mouth and throat. Weird, huh?
