Place of birth is often used for "password reset" and/or account access across the Internet. It's also common for people to have the same id's on forums such as DU, as they do for other online accounts (email accounts, online stores, bank accounts, other discussion forums, etc).

So, a list of DU userids and the associated place of birth is perhaps not the best thread around.

One thing I want to make clear: I am NOT making a judgment on the intent of the original poster at all!!! I just think that with DU being an open forum (i.e. anyone in the world can read the discussion threads), it's prudent not to share this info. There are some crazy people out there who use automated tools and manual methods to try to break into all types of accounts.

One of my cousins was Eastside's drum majorette around 1961.
My family lived in the Prospect Park section of Paterson in the late 1950s. Just about everyone in our neighborhood spoke Dutch or German. We were the oddball Estonians, though my parents spoke German pretty well after spending years in a postwar Displaced Persons camp there. I started kindergarten in Paterson, but we moved to Wayne in '58.
