Got some good news! Cider's tongue may not be amputated.
Paul took Cider to the vet today (after his harrowing ordeal yesterday with the string that got tied around Cider's tongue). The emergency vet was afraid that Cider might have to have up to 1/3 of his tongue removed due to the amount of oxygen the tongue was deprived of.

So I sat here fretting today because all kinds of things were going through my head. How would the kitties groom each other? How would he drink?

Fortunately the vet checked it out today and said that it looked surprisingly good. He said that there's still some fluid coming out of it, but that all-in-all it looks very good.

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

2. I hope so...
Today was heartbreaking not to hear the "FEED MEEEEEEEOW". I had to keep going over and giving some rubs to make him feel better.

5. That must be a big relief
I know it's not over yet, but after a day of fretting over very real possibilities (I am a big worrier myself) it's good to get some kind of reprieve. I'll be sending healing thoughts.

10. She's still a little winky, but I despair of getting the ointment into her eye by myself
I'm trying to train her, three years late, to let me pick her up but Amelia is only cuddly on her own terms (as in "I can sit on you, but you can't pick me up"). Should I succeed, maybe I can get her eye ointmented. If not, she got an antibiotic shot and seems a lot better all the way around, including the eye. Thanks for your reply on that thread; sorry I didn't reply back, but I thought it was time to let the thread fall to the archives, as she was (almost) all better. And Amelia says string's ok, but foam rubber mini soccer balls are the best!
