memory erasure is a real bad thing to do, so the main character is an abused character. Doesn't make for a good show for me.

I do understand there are metaphors there, but the idea as presented in first episodes was not that good.

I actually had some thoughts on that show. And the huge problem of memory erasure of the main star in the show.

They could do lots of things, they could have instead of it being erasure and replace, be overlaying, creating a conflict that she wins out, becoming herself. Then by doing that they could cycle through the false doctrines she has to fight.

Ark,Captain,Puppet,Collectible,Avatar, and a few others.

She could even lead an overthrow of the doll house. Since that interjection of things is inherently bad. With conflict and work, she could learn to not lose her identity between downloads. That skill then could be taught to the others, where they can keep skills in a highlander way(each conflict teaches you by how the opponent fought), but does not lose identity when she wins the fight.

Alternatively ghost or spirit doctrine could be added for an ally.

But the overriding idea would be defeating the many false doctrines around that topic. And I don't think it is just a tech metaphor, since in episode 1, or 2, she used the ghost comment.

Echo/Caroline seems to be fighting it and infiltrating it, slowly. Many hints about this so far.

Answering the doctor question is really deep. It depends on the episode, and the interpretation.

Its easy to flip symbols and see things how you want to see them and enjoy the show, even in episodes that probably were originally a different view.

:) Anyway, I think the episode of Doctor Who was called "The Satan Pit" in the New Series, the Second New Serious with Rose as the principal companion of the tenth doctor. The Doctor see a huge creature that is called Satan. In the end he tells Rose that he doesn't know what it was, which makes me think he could be agnostic, but I don't know.

I enjoyed Torchwood and Firefly because the main characters are outspoken atheists. It's good to show a variety of beliefs. Captain Harkness has died so many times and seen nothing. Captain Reynolds believed there was no god after he saw the carnage of the battle of Serenity. That said various characters in the series do express different beliefs. In Firefly, Shepard Book is a priest and Inara lights incense to Buddha. In Torchwood, Ianto reads aloud from the Book of Daniel to make sense of apocalyptic events and Gwen visualizes an afterlife where she will she her grandma.

I did not watch all of that episode.

But there are ways to put a context into his statement in that Doctor Episode.

But overall, I find the statement a better statement, knowing has many meanings, and while we should be wary, and know of the traps and tricks of evil, we should not know it in our hearts.

The interpretation of TV shows, especial complex ones, is so open ended, it is tough to explain. And it is different for different people. I just try to find what I like in things, and ignore parts that I might consider wrong.
