'Are You Wearing the Right Bra Size?'
This just popped up as a sponsored G-mail link, so I thought I'd post it here as a public service.

Cuz a lotta women have trouble finding ones that fit.

10. A lot of us are lopsided
One is bigger than the other, sometimes by a completely different cup size. Makes bra shopping fun. Not.

I'm pretty well balanced, but I have friends who are different sizes and it's hard for them to get fitted properly.

35. George's bra sales interview
George: The first time I laid my I on brassieres I was enthralled.

Farkus: Hum. tell me about it.

George: Well, I was 14 years old. I was in my friends bathroom. His mother's brassieres were hanging on the shower rod. I picked it up, studied it. I thought, I like this. I didn't know what way or what level, but I knew: I wanted to be around brassieres.

Farkus: That's incredible story. You have a remarkable passion for brassieres.

George: They are more than an underwear to me, Mr.Farkus. Two cups in the front, two loops in the back. How do they do it?

Farkus: Well, I think I can say, barring some unforeseen incident, that you'll have a very bright future here at ED Granmont.

George: Thank you Mr. Farkus, thank you very much indeed.

Farkus: See you Monday 9 o'clock.

George: If you don't mind, sir. I'll be here at 8.

11. Most people wear a band size that is too small.
And wonder why they can't breathe. That's the measurement around the ribs.

Lots of women think they are a 34B and they are actually a 36A.

For example, I have large ribs. Size of ribs and size of cup are not related.

However I am a small cup size and it's hard to find bras that are small cup size with a 40 inch rib cage.

Also the cup size varies with the band size, so an A cup will get progressively bigger with a bigger band size.

They have some amazingly comfy sport bras nowadays. I wear them all the time except if I wear a dress on special occasions.

21. You measure under the breasts and around the back to get the stap size. Then you measure around
the widest part of the breast and around your back to see what the cup size will be. Every two inches that the cup size is bigger than the base stap size...is a new cup size.

23. I hate bras
I think it's assumed that small breasted women have an easier time, but bras suck for women of all shapes and sizes. Many bra makers will design a cup for C, but then cut it down for smaller cups or expand it for larger cups. The female body doesn't work this way though. An A cup or DD cup breast is not the same shape as a C cup breast.

Victoria Secret is a great example of this and not just because they seem to think all boobs are saline filled. If I manage to even find an A cup bra at VS, then it will fit on the bottom, but it's baggy on top which looks stupid. One would have to have a melon shaped A cup just to fit the bra correctly when most of us have a sloped shape.

25. Yes: if it doesn't cut into my skin, fall off, make my clothing look
worse (or inappropriate) and it's comfortable - that's my test. I don't pay much attention to it - don't like the things - just an extra hassle because society tells me I need to cover up a normal reaction to being cold. Dumb. I've ignored this "rule" once or twice and didn't much like the reaction I got, so it amounts to the lesser of two evils. : ).

This thread made me laugh when I saw it because I remember my grandmother - who basically looked like Olive Oyl from birth into her 80's. Super skinny/petite. The older she got, the bigger her bras got - so much so that if someone else did her wash they'd think a much larger woman was living in her house. It was too funny, but she was into comfort and apparently the looser she could get them, the better. (Love you, miss you, Grandma...) : ).

Because otherwise a DD looks ridiculous. But I'd like to slap the snot out of whoever came up with the bones. The fool things always work their way out and stab me in the armpit at the most inappropriate moments, like while I'm riding the bus or in the middle of a job interview.

thing. I have the worst time with bras. The damn bones poke me and are not ever properly aligned. To add insult to injury, I have allergies to some of the materials (latex, Spandex) used in the back closures and in the comfort straps.

Whenever I decide it is time to try again, all I find are tiny, lacy, bony, pricey bras.
I remember years ago, this granny could buy Maidenform or Bali 100% cotton unadorned bras that were bone free and comfortable.

You have to really prepare yourself for this major bra buying mission. Can you relate to this?
Look at the racks, one mfr's 36C is the same size and the next mfr's 38B. Only 3 items in the fitting room at a time, get undressed, none fit, get dressed again, go find 3 more, undress, try on, nope, get dressed look again, give up, go home.
Try another store another day.

I bet there are millions of us who would like to go back to something other than the stuff offered today.
