1. "You were gone?"
My cat can sleep for a week and only get up to eat and poop - and he'll help himself to the food if I don't feed him.

2. I have only seen this happen once
but my mothers cat who was 22 years old, but in perfect health when my mother died, grieved herself to death shortly afterwards.

3. My cat was 1 year old when my grandmother died
when my relatives found her (about 1-2 hours later) they said the cat was crying.

then i adopted him. he would wait in front of the door (practically blocking it :eyes:) when i came home. he was accustomed to her 24-hour company and didn't like me going off to work much of the day.

5. No, he wouldn't miss me
but he hasn't lived here long enough to feel secure that we aren't going to dump him like his last people did.

6. When my Mom died her cat really missed her.
The cat would just sit in the living room looking at Mom's chair day after day.
