My new 'oil-less' turkey 'fryer'. It WORKS!
The Big Easy.
Just cooked a fantastic turkey. Really crisp skin. Juicy on the inside.
YES!

The Big Easy™ Oil-less Infrared Turkey Fryer

Delicious - 100% Infrared heat locks in flavor and keeps food moist – never dry!
Safe - No hot oil to burn, splatter or spill.
Easy - No expensive oil to purchase, clean-up or recycle.

Char-Broil's new infrared oil-less turkey fryer is the safe way to fry your turkey. And because it uses NO oil, it's healthier, too. Prepare your turkey with the same injectable marinade you already use, or use seasoned rubs on the outside, which is not an option with traditional fryers. Cooks a turkey from start-to-finish just as quickly as oil-frying without the messy clean-up.

Take The Big Easy Virtual Tour to see how the infrared heat circles the cooker to penetrate the meat evenly and seal in juices. The result is a bird that's moist inside and crispy outside but without the risk, hassle or added fat and calories of oil. Safely cook a turkey (up to 16 lbs.) or chicken in about 8 to 10 minutes per pound. Roasts and most other large cuts of meat cook for slightly longer.

NEW! Watch The Big Easy Videos available below to see just how easy it is to get started with yours.

The Big Easy includes a cooking basket, basket lifting handle, and meat thermometer.

1. I don't know about that thing.
I don't think you could get BillO's head in there, much less the rest of him.

2. Looks good.
The oil is really expensive for frying a turkey.

4. You can do any large cuts of meat.
Beef, lamb, pork, chicken, etc.
You can also cook spuds, corn, etc at the same time.
Put the spuds on the bottom and the meat juices baste them.
Cooked a 12 lb. turkey in 1:45.

7. I would be glad to be gone with the oil.
This could pay for itself in no time.

3. I've seen that in stores before and wondered how they worked.
I just might get one sometime.

8. I'm ashamed to say.
$130.
And believe me, that's a lot for a retired couple on a VERY limited fixed income.

But we gave it to each other for our 40th wedding anniversary.
:-)

I convinced Miz t. we'd make it up in the cost of peanut oil we won't have to buy for the turkey fryer that I used exactly once.

11. My only concern:
How long will a propane tank last?
Cost more than the peanut oil?
We'll see.

12. Good point
But I'd rather pay a little more for the propane fills and not have to worry about disposing of the old oil; and as a fireman's wife, I think the safety bonus of not having the hot oil fires is a good point. You'll have to keep us posted. I went to a couple websites from the link you gave and there were good reviews and it seems that you can use it for a lot more than just turkey. Things you wouldn't have to cook as long as you would a turkey. I read quite a few very good reviews. I'm interested!

13. I'll use this a lot more often than I did the turkey fryer.
Much less mess and it's healthier.
All the fat that cooks out collects in a tray.
There are some video recipes on you tube that look interesting.
Put spuds in the bottom of the cooking basket with a chicken on top.
The chicken drippings baste the spuds.
yum

it is round and looks like a tub?
