I used to work with an older woman who told us that she could tell the difference between the taste of Sheep blood and Goat blood that she pipetted..:scared: (fortunately mouth pipetting has been out of fashion for at least 25 years now)

I remember the lectures in Chemistry and Biochemistry labs- "Don't use your mouth to pipet!" I distinctly remember thinking, "Well, DUUUUUH!!!! Who would do THAT???"

That said, I do confess to taking a swig from the absolute ethanol every now and again.... But at one job, we kept some around for taste tests of vanallin, so it was totally legit!
