What movie changed your life, at least a little? How?
I can't say any one movie changed my life, but some had a profound influence of what I felt about life. "Sophie's Choice" had that influence, although I almost had to run out of the theatre when she made her "choice."

Mostly, movies just enhanced my understanding of cinematic art. Two in particular: "The Godfather" and "Chariots of Fire." They were perfect movies and I was dumbfounded.

8. Indeed....
Adolfo 'Shabba-Doo' Quinones reprising his role as Ozone, was a breath of fresh cinematic air in 1984. The nuances of his performance caused me to weep at the subtle beauty...

9. Sometimes a movie can mirror real life.
Ozone: Girls are whack, man!

Rhonda: I want you to stay away from that girl!

So true, Ozone. So true.

17. Didn't Loki predict that would outperform ET as the best movie (he said time would tell)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120655/

Bartleby: You know, maybe you're wrong about this slaughter thing. How can you even be sure what incurs the Lord's wrath these days? Times change. I remember when eating meat on a Friday was supposed to be a Hell-worthy trespass.
Loki: The major sins never change. Besides, you know, I can spot a commandment-breaker from, like, a mile away. So, bet on it.
Bartleby: This from the guy who still owes me 10 bucks over that bet about what was gonna be the bigger movie - "E. T. " or "Krush Groove"?
Loki: You know, fuck you, man, 'cause time's gonna tell on that one.

Loki: What, are you insinuating that I don't have what it takes anymore?
Bartleby: Insinuating, no. Flat-out telling you.

4. "The Land Before Time"
Shortly after our dates drug us to see it, one of my best friends dropped acid and began an hours-long conversation with Petrie (the Pterodactyl character). I decided then and there to just say no....

25. I was amazed that that movie could make me feel actually GOOD.
But I did. I came out of themovie uplifted not dispirited, and it was a tough movie to feel that about.

about how a man could abandon what made him rich and powerful (and throw the former away) in favor of saving lives.

As for me though, I was an emotional wreck.

11. Wall Street
Based upon Blue Horsehoe's recommendation I bought heavily into Endicott Steel

After learning that Endicott Steel wasn't real and losing 300 grand, I decided to go back to being influenced by "Being There."

15. This is kinda silly...
But "Grease" changed my life. After that, I became obsessed with movie musicals. I was 11 years old, and I wanted to be Olivia Newton-John and be married to John Travolta. LOL

20. No laughs here!
Especially as I was going to say "The Music Man." I've always loved movie musicals; they're so gosh-darn cheerful and fun (even when they deal with dark/heavy subjects, e.g., Sweeney Todd). :)

Before I saw that movie I wanted to be one of those rich assholes we always hear about on the news. After seeing that movie I realized the Dude had the right idea all along. No job, just ride around, bowl, and drink white russians all day long. :toast:

A classic Australian anti-war film

The film made me understand the tragedies and sorrows of war in a way that I had not known at the time.

Jack: What are your legs?

Archy Hamilton: Springs. Steel springs.

Jack: What are they going to do?

Archy Hamilton: Hurl me down the track.

Jack: How fast can you run?

Archy Hamilton: As fast as a leopard.

Jack: How fast are you going to run?

Archy Hamilton: As fast as a leopard!

Jack: Then let's see you do it!
