1. They might just be the most gentle and sweet dog breed on the planet.

I've known many of them and they all seem much wiser than you can imagine in a dog. Although they can also park their heads on the dinner table, clear the coffee table with one sweep of the tail, and sit on the couch with their front paws on the floor to watch TV. And do NOT let them in the bed!!!!

3. Laugh, but that's why the Brits call German Shepherds "Alsatians"

Because the word "German" had unpleasant connotations after WWI. To be fair, the dogs had already been called that sporadically in other parts of the world, or that is my understanding anyway.



Bottom line - people are weird.
