Tonight's poem from the open mic..."The Crumb"

[CaliforniaPeggy]

The crumb bothers my lip; it distracts and annoys me
It buzzes at me the way a fly does
I twitch my finger to make it gone
And I flex my lip too

So that’s what it feels like
To kiss your mouth, to feel your muscles and your strength
How I wish I were
kissing you


Instead of having just a crumb
Here on my lip
