Obama's Chrysler Speech today........In "Pirate-Speak"...
Arrrrh,

Now, this partnership was only possible 'cause o' unprecedented sacrifices on th' part o' Chrysler's stakeholders, who are willin' t' give somethin' up so that this crew a'n all o' th' scallywags 'n wenches whose livelihoods depend on it arr' might see a better day. Chrysler's management, 'n in particular, its CEO, Robert Nardelli, 'ave played a positive 'n constructive role throughout this process. Th' United Auto Workers, who had already made painful concessions, agreed t' further cuts in wages 'n benefits; cuts that shall help Chrysler survive, makin' it possible fer so many workers t' keep thar jobs 'n about 170,000 retirees 'n thar families t' keep thar health care.

Several major financial institutions, led by J.P. Morgan, agreed t' reduce thar debt t' less than one-third o' its face value t' help free Chrysler from its crushin' obligations. Th' German automaker, Daimler, agreed t' give up its stake in Chrysler 'n contribute t' th' crew's pension plan, further easin' Chrysler's financial burden. 'n countless Americans across our country will be makin' major sacrifices, as well, as a result o' plans t' consolidate dealers, brands, 'n product lines.

While many stakeholders made sacrifices 'n worked constructively, I 'ave t' tell ye some didn'. In particular, a group o' investment firms 'n hedge funds decided t' hold out fer th' prospect o' an unjustified taxpayer-funded bailout. They were hopin' that everybody else would make sacrifices, 'n they would 'ave t' make none. Some demanded twice th' return that other lenders were gettin'. I don't stand wit' them. I stand wit' Chrysler's employees 'n thar families 'n communities. I stand wit' Chrysler's management, its dealers, 'n its suppliers. I stand wit' th' millions o' Americans who owns 'n wants t' buy Chrysler cars. I don't stand wit' those who held out when everybody else be makin' sacrifices. 'n that's why I be supportin' Chrysler's plans t' use our bankruptcy laws t' clear away its remainin' obligations so th' crew can get back on its feet 'n onto a path o' success.

Now a'vast wit' ye, I 'ave t' go...arrrhhh
