One thing I really miss about truck driving
was the kids who did the arm motion to get you to honk your horn. Hell,I am 41 and still get the truckers to honk their horns on long trips.

1. I loved to do that. It made me feel so good when the truckdrivers honked back.
It was "Smokey and the Bandit" and listening to some talk show programs about trucking that gave me such tremendous respect and even reverence for truck drivers.

I remember once, driving back to my home from college, and it was 500 or 600 miles, and two trucks seemed to let me nestle between them and they sort of guided me through very bad weather part of the way home.

Truckers are amazing people.

5. I loved talking on the CB
It was like chat is now on the internet. You talk to each other..then there will be a period of no talking...then you talk some more..then we would Dial channel 19 to see what was going on. Lots of fun

these younger "driving school" drivers, are real assholes sometimes. they'll keep a cb on and get pissed if you transmit over their XM.

9. I didn't realize that.
Of course I haven't talked on a CB for 20 years. I am just glad when I was driving everyone was nice to each other in general.
