1. Hey.
You gonna be okay?

P.S. Unhappiness is an appropriate response to some circumstances, in my opinion. I've never met a healthy person who was happy 100 percent of the time. And I think the same applies to unhappiness. If either was a constant in my life, I'd talk with a doc about it.

2. Agree with the other poster.
It is a myth (often pushed in bad therapy, which reinforces the sense that you are damaged) that so-called normal people are able to "stay happy."

It's perfectly normal to have sadness, even great sadness, creep up on you at times. It is part of being human.

4. Have you tried crying. I find that I always feel relieved after a good cry. After all when we were
kids and we cried whenever we were sad we were never depressed. If it is hanging around or keeping you from sleeping I'd go see a doctor about it. They have amazing drugs/meds these days.

11. My suggestion is to go back to whoever prescribed the SSRI
Edited on Sun May-03-09 03:52 PM by hedgehog
and tell him/her what you are feeling. You may benefit from some talk therapy and/or a change in your prescription. Sometimes the SSRI does a lot for you, but another or a combo may be better. Good luck! Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get the right balance.

Try to get a little sunlight - you might be short of Vitamin D:)
