Most obscure and useless class you ever took?
I will start with what I think is a winner.

At the University of Houston (large state school) I took a 4 hr course with lab in:

SLIME MOLDS

I was a biology major anyway and needed the credits.

The teacher had a Ph.D. in slime molds. His wife taught the lab, and she had a Ph.D. in Fungus.
She was the chief fungus person at NASA.

And people thought I was weird b/c i grew slime molds in petri dishes in my room and fed them ground oatmeal.

6. Prehistoric Life
I needed 1 more science class and someone told me it would be easy. They lied.

I was not as interesting as you would think it would be. The majority of the time was spend distinguishing the differences between obscure dinosaurs based on the holes in their skulls.

7. The teaching credential program required that I take a course

called "Sociology of Education." I still have no clue what the point was. It had nothing to do with teaching in the real world, but few education theory courses do. I think they exist to give highbrow prof. types a way to earn a paycheck.
