My dear friend Frank ...Rest In Peace
Edited on Wed May-13-09 04:37 AM by Indi Guy
I posted about Frank a number of months ago, and many of you were very generous with your warm wishes and prayers for his recovery. While Frank has now moved on to the next world -- your wonderful thoughts still live in his soul, and please keep them coming ...and for those who hadn't seen the original post, please send my friend your love.

Your life would have been deeply enriched just by being around the man. He has that special blend of the character traits we all enjoy -- humility, humor, intellect, curiosity, healthy distrust of authority, love of nature, & I could go on and on...

What I didn't say months ago was that Frank is my girlfriend's best friend. I met them both on a camping trip in '01. Frank & Joanna went to college together, while I arrived on the scene years later. It was Frank who got Joanna into camping (she wasn't the type, but now she loves it).

Joanna could always call Frank (day or night) with anything, big or small. Frank always had time for her. As the days pass, Joanna is experiencing more & more the depth of her loss. Please send her your good will as well.

Thank you folks,

You're the best

(editing to include a candle for Frank & his loved ones ...and a request for others to post a candle or a thought, or both)

9. I am sorry you and Joann lost your friend.

I lost a friend to a brain aneurysm about three weeks ago. It was a sudden death, unlike Frank's.

Still hurts either way.

11. KW -- You are correct...
It is easier to lose a friend who's troubles are known, rather than to lose a friend unexpectedly. It sux either way (as you well describe).

Everyone thought & hoped that Frank would make it through. Well, he made it to the other side. None of his friends were prepared -- even though the markings were on the walls.

This known, I'm so very sorry that you experienced your sudden loss. Sudden losses are indeed the worst kind.

How would you like your friend to be honored? I've had very little DU time lately, but I'll happily make the effort to come to know the friend you lost so quickly...
