For those of you who think that North Jersey Stinks...
Let me say that the area outside St.Paul Minnesota is JUST AS BAD!! Ack! Lovely sulfer/rotten eggs stink... Meanwhile I am on my hotel balcony in Bloomington.. Which overlooks an INDOOR water park - I've never stayed in a hotel like this..BB your kids would love this place I think . I took some pics that I'll post later... I 'd hate to be in this room during the weekend ..I bet it would be soooo loud!

1. So does that make N. Jersey smell better?
S.W. Detroit has some nice aromas from a refinery. The mid-town area enjoys a daily pre-dawn release of aromas from a garbage incinerator. Mmmmmm.

None of which helps parts of NJ.

Anyway, of course MN would have an indoor water park. The outdoor parks have a one-month season before they re-freeze.

Are you getting time to play in the water park?

:hi:

13. I wish I could play
There is one of those lazy river things down there that I would LOVE to try but alas it's not to be. I knew there was an indoor water park around here... I just didn't realize it was so integrated with the hotel. It's very cool

Minneapolis/St Paul has lots, but the 'burbs are sadly lacking, with the exception of Ciao Bella, 3510 Minnesota Drive.

Great service, excellent food, and very warm and cozy in the winter, too.

Otherwise Bloomington is a food wasteland.

I like Philly - always did. Probably because of all the history, and the Rocky steps. :7

I grew up in Camden County - very liberal area. Moved to Gloucester County almost two years ago - my my my, what a difference a county makes. And not in a good way. :scared:

But the good outweighs the bad - my boys are being challenged in school, which is always good; it's a very rural setting, so I don't have neighbors breathing down my neck; and because I'm right on the outskirts of Salem County (the first sign you see when I get on the main drag off my road is "You are now entering Salem County"), I do my shopping there and save on sales tax (Salem County is only 3%). :)

71. Ah, it might be because I'm biased. An ex lived there.
And she was somewhat crazy, so perhaps I'm a bit jaded.

And maybe Long Branch is actually very nice. I'm only going off of Middletown and surrounding areas, and when I came to visit there all I found were congested roads and suburban sprawl and it just depressed the hell out of me as a place where I never, ever would want to live. Plus you were actually prohibited from making left hand turns, which just confused the hell out of me.

I have heard that Southern NJ is nice. Pine Barrens and such.

When I was a child there was a stretch of Route 17 where the factories gave off such noxious odors that you literally had to hold your breath.

Now they've probably built Chili's and Ponderosas on top of those sites.
