In a hundred years, Americans will be talking about things jumping the shark, and will wonder where that odd phrase came from and how it came to mean the dying of something that was once wonderful.

6. About the same time that "JumpTheShark.com" was bought by ReadersDigest.com
It used to be a snarky community discussion website debating when old shows crapped out & got desperate for story ideas. Now it redirects to the Readers Digest blog and helps some rightwing corporation sell Viagra.
